Tenth Avenue North, Over and Underneath

Listening to the radio the other day and this song comes on that just nails me. I’m trying to figure out what the song is and who’s singing because I’m blown away by the lyrics. It’s one of those times where God totally invades and speaks too me. I had to find out who the band was, I had to have that song Driven on dvd .

That’s how I discovered Tenth Avenue North. Honestly, God used them to encourage me at a time I needed it, much like Decyfer Down’s “Best I Can”. I had heard of them, had heard the song Love Is Here last spring and summer. I just didn’t pay much attention then. But after hearing By Your Side Twelve Monkeys hd , I had to have the album. And now, nearly 9 months after it’s release, I had to write about it anyway. Sorry guys, sorry for being late. This is one of those albums that I should have picked up last year.

Musically I would describe them as CCM. Think of the softer side of Switchfoot with some Delirious? and Jars of Clay mixed in. Tenth can get very worshipful on the CD and there’s even an element of teaching on it, as may of the songs speak of the deep truth’s of God in the music. Like I said, great lyrics on this one.

So there you go, late, but reviewed none-the-less. And if any of the guys from Tenth Avenue happen to read this, thank you. Thank you for being God’s mouthpiece.
