rock, somewhat like Falling Up, Anberlin or Mae. Think melodic indie rock, with a touch of synthed up emo .

Band/Artist: Future of Forestry
Album: “Twilight”

Label: Credential Recordings

“Twilight” is Future of Forestry’s first full-length CD. They hale from San Diego, California and was founded by two members of the band Something Like Silas, Eric Owyoung and Nick Maybury. They have been joined by Luke Floeter on Bass and Spencer Kim on Drums. The sound of FoF is similar to Silas, featuring ethereal guitar hooks and emo

-ish vocals. I also hear similarities in their music to bands like Delirious?, the Choir, the Violet Burning and Common Children.

Forever Changed, The Need to Feel Alive

Band/Artist: Forever Changed

Album: “The Need to Feel Alive”

Label: Floodgate Records

This is the first national release for the Florida based Forever Changed. Their style is a mixture of EMO, pop and punk. Several reviews I read seem to think they sound a little U2-ish at times. I don’t know, I think that’s stretching it. I don’t really hear it. I think they sound closer to bands like Juliana Theory, Further Seems Forever and Anberlin.

Cool Hand Luke, The Fires of Life

Band/Artist: Cool Hand Luke
Album: “The Fires of Life”

Label: Floodgate Records

“Fires of Life” is Cool Hand Luke’s sophomore CD, released on the heels of 2003’s successful “Wake Up O’ Sleeper”. Luke continues their musical journey, building on their musical style. You could compare it a little to Coldplay. It’s dreamy, artistic, melodic rock with a very deep spiritual content. That is the band’s strong point; the music is very deep, very spiritual. Probably more so than any other rock group I’ve listened to, outside of purely worship bands.
