So I’m down in the South Florida coast on vacation, visiting my sister. She mentions this free, “family friendly” event in downtown Palm Springs called “Clematis at Night.” I do a little investigating on the web and find out that Mat Kearney My Blue Heaven movie download is giving a free concert the very night she’s suggests we go. Sweet! I’m all about free, especially since I’ve been dropping my hard earned cash all over Florida for the past few days.

I took the family to see the sold out Diverse City Tour show. There was something for everyone here. I’ve wanted to see Kutless in concert. And Hawk Nelson was a bonus for me. The rest of the family likes Toby Mac. I’ve never been a huge fan of Audio Adrenaline; they have some stuff I like. Overall, no one came away overly disappointed except me.

Hawk Nelson opened the night with 9 song, 35 minute set to the nearly packed sanctuary of Riverlawn Christian Church. HN was received warmly as they played the top songs from their album “Letter to the President” . These included the title track, “Letters to the President” and “California” among those. HN closed with “Every Little Thing” which really had the crowd going.

This is the second time I’ve seen Disciple in concert. The venue was Ground Zero, a local youth ministry in Wichita, Kansas. It’s small, which means there really isn’t a bad seat in the house. But the acoustics are a little rough in the place. And you’ll have to forgive me, I get so caught up in the music that I forget to write down the song titles.
