Band/Artist: Stellar Kart
Album: “We Can’t Stand Sitting Down”
Label: Word Records
Look out Relient K and Hawk Nelson, Stellar Kart is on the move. Not that there’s a competition or anything. It’s just that with Stellar’s sophomore release, “We Can’t Stand Sitting Down”, the punk
scene is getting a little crowded with talent. And make no mistake; Stellar Kart has a fantastic CD here.
“We Can’t Stand Sitting Down” is a mature, engaging album. The main theme seems to be faith and living a Jesus centered life. And it’s one of those albums where it’s difficult to pick a favorite song. But I seem to gravitate towards “Procrastinating” and “Always Waiting.” Both speak of being engaged and active in your faith, getting off the couch and walking in faith.
“Me And Jesus” is another good track as well, and it’s been making the rounds on the radio. It’s an uplifting call to the broken hearted, that regardless of what things seem, there is someone that cares. The song really ministers in its sincerity. I found myself playing it over and over.
So here it is, as I said at the beginning, Stellar Kart’s 2nd CD rocks. It should propel them into the top ranks of Christian pop-punk bands. Stellar has released a sincere CD that will challenge, inspire and minister - all in one CD.
