Band/Artist: Rachael Lampa
Album: “Rachael Lampa”

Label: Word Records

Rachael Lampa’s self-titled CD is her 4th. Her other albums include Kaleidoscope and Blur. She started singing at 14. Rachael is currently 19 years old. She just recently graduated from high school and moved from Colorado to Tennessee.

Rachael’s CD is an R&B, hip-hop mix, think a little Mariah Carey here. All of the songs have great beats. There is even a little rock and ska on the album as well. This album has way less bubble-gum than her CD’s before. She’s done a great job moving forward with her music

I have a few favorite songs on this CD. “All This Time” is one of them. It talks about truly believing in God and taking the big step in actually becoming a Christian. Lampa says “It’s about the journey that someone takes as they realize that there is a difference between knowing what you should believe and then actually truly believing it.”

“Honest” is a song about not being able to live without God. “It makes you think about the fact that if God loves us enough to give us direction that don’t even know we need, then just imagine what he will do when we surrender our will and pray for his will in our lives,” says Rachael

“This song is about those times where we find ourselves full of self-pity,” Lampa says about the song “Outrageous”. It encourages people to get up and do something that would make them and their peers smile.

“Rubber House” is about building a rubber house so everyone can live together in Christ’s name. “I think that is how God meant for us to live: to accept others and love them as ourselves. To look for a way to embrace others and affirm that they fit in, no mater how they stand out,” said Rachael.

“Rachael Lampa” has an awesome beat through the whole CD and she is a very talented singer. And it has a very positive message throughout the whole CD. I hope that Rachael gets major credit for making such a wonderful CD.
