Well it’s the end of the 2008. I didn’t want to get left out of the party, so here’s my list of favorite songs of the year. I seemed to have missed several artists and bands that are mentioned on nearly ever list. There are lots of mentions of House of Heroes, totally missed that one. I knew about Anberlin’s CD, but never got around to grabbing it. Children 18:3 and Brooke Frasier also slipped by me.
So here’s my list. These aren’t necessarily in any particular order, at least after Brandon Heath’s song.
Brandon Heath, “Give Me Your Eyes” download when a man loves a woman
This is my favorite song of the year, hands down. It really touched me, deeply. I think any honest Christian would have these same feelings that Brandon sings about in this song. That we just can’t do it without the Lord’s help.
Hawk Nelson, “Friend Like That”
Hawk Nelson is just one of my favorite bands, so I had to have one of their songs on here. I couldn’t turn on the radio without hearing this song for awhile.

Sanctus Real, “Whatever You’re Doing”
This song hit me quite like Brandon Heath’s did. As I was wrestling with a couple of things over the year, I could totally relate to this song. There were times I felt the chaos of God working in me. Man on Fire divx
Third Day, “Call My Name”
Third Day is just the best at really putting heart and emotion into a song and “Call My Name” is right up there with anything they’ve released in the past.

The Afters, “Never Going Back to OK”
This song was really a challenge to me, to strive to be better. To live my life for God and not sit back in apathy.
Casting Crowns, “Every Man”
Casting Crowns is a lot like Third Day, they can really put their heart and soul into a song. I liked this song a lot.
Skillet, “Those Nights”
This song from Skillet brought back memories of me and my friends when we were younger, sitting around, working out life and growing up.
Well that’s my list. What were some of your favorites from this year? Let us know in the comments. And for your reading pleasure, here are some other
song lists of 2008 from around the web.

House of Heroes “In the Valley of the Dying Sun” is a great song.
Yeah, I’ve got to look them up. Everyone seems to really like them. Thanks for the reply.
