I’m enjoying an extremely well made jerk chicken sandwich when Mat takes the stage. I was a little disappointed to see that it was only going to be an acoustic set as only Mat and another guitarist comes out. But hey, it was free.

The set was short, around 30-40 minutes I believe. Remember, it was family-friendly, which generally means, shut down by 9. I didn’t hear anything new, all the songs being from Mat’s current album, “Nothing Left to Lose”. The set included “Undeniable”, “Girl America” and “Nothing Left To Lose.” “Bullet” wasn’t on the play list that night; maybe he needs his full band for that. Sad, I was looking forward to that tune.

Overall, the concert was good. It wasn’t rocking the house down but it worked for me. But I’m biased a bit anyway; I really like Mat Kearney’s music. I was hoping to hear something new, as this album is actually a little old now being its second release. None the less, I enjoyed the night.
