Band/Artist: Lifehouse
Album: “Who We Are”
Label: Geffen Records
I’ve been a long time Lifehouse fan, from the moment I heard their first album “No Name Face”. And I will have to say that I think this is their best album yet. They just keep getting better and better and this one is a home run. This album should put them squarely on the map. Can I be any more cliche?

The main thing that I have always like from Lifehouse is the sincerity in their music. And I’m not disappointed here. The songs run the gamut from new love to life and death to life’s uncertainties and disappointments. Granted, doesn’t sound like new ground here. But those issues in the hands of chief singer-songwriter Jason Wade and something truly awesome happens.
The spiritual undertones, while not overt, are there on many of the songs. The most obvious would be “Storm”, the re-recorded song Wade wrote at 16 that was originally included on their first indie album when they were called Bliss. The song has had a life of its own on the Internet, being circulated by fans. Wade wanted to re-record the song after realizing how much it meant to people.
It’s hard to pick any favorites, but I would have to say that I really like the opening track “Disarray” and the song “Broken”. The first deals with growing up in a strict religious family and wrestling with the darkness and the light. It’s raw and powerful. “Broken” is about a friend of Wade’s waiting for a kidney transplant. Both spoke to me about my own life and its questions and struggles.
Again, I can’t say enough about how good this is. If you haven’t checked out Lifehouse yet, now would be a great time.
