Well it’s 2010 and here’s my first review of the new year. I received Me In Motion’s debut album this last week and have been giving it a spin. And honestly, I’m liking what I’m hearing.

I bought a new digital music player recently, a Creative Zen, 8gb [blatant money making link], to replace my old Creative Zen Nano and dumped nearly all my music on it. I was using the random album feature and up popped Beanbag, an older band that I hadn’t listened to in awhile. The album was Free Signal and I remember really liking it. So, it got me thinking of other bands that I really loved and have since disappeared.
I’ve been a fan of Starflyer 59 for a very long time. I would have to say they are probably in my top 10 all time favourite bands. Jason Martin has been putting out SF59 albums around 14 years now. That’s quite a long time for a band that has never received the recognition that he deserves. So here’s my chance to get the word out. If you’ve missed these guys, here’s your chance.
Reading on my favorite blog, churchcrunch.com , the other day and John has written two posts that have really got me thinking about this blog and my whole spritual life in general. I’ve been rolling this around in my head for a couple of days now and need to get my thoughts in order.

Decyfer Down was a band that I had heard of, but hadn’t really listened to their music. Seeing that they had an EP out for their upcoming release “Crash,” I decided to give it a go and I’m blown away.
If you’re going to be in the Kansas area in early July, there is going to be a great looking concert on the 5th. Superchick will be headlining along with Building 429, Decyfer Down , Article One, Mike Burns and over half dozen local/regional artists, including Emily Judson Band, Staynlis, Repentance, Brian Nixon, Neely, Cash Hollistah, Sonlit and numerous community talent groups.
